Morning: This morning we woke up to another beautiful day at Managua Hills at the time of 7:00 A.M. Some of us jumped into the shower and some of us just threw clothes on because they took showers last night. We then had to be at the breakfast table at 7:50 if we wanted to be on time. The options for breakfast was eggs, eggs with ham, toast, beans and rice, watermelon, pancakes, and yogurt. A variety of people got both types of eggs and pancakes. It took about 15 to 20 minutes to eat breakfast. After that we hopped in the van and was off to the Masaya Market. At the market we got into separate groups of 31’s, 2,s, and 3’s. We, the writers, were in group of 2’s. Our group leader, Omar, directed us to places that we might like. We had about 50 minutes to an hour to get the things that we really wanted to get. Some of us got things like Nicaraguan Baseball shirts to bracelets with our names engraved in them. After our times was up, we then went back to the van and was off to the restaurant called Posada Biologica la Abuela. At the restaurant there was a clear, big, open view of Volcano Masaya and the Lagoon. We then ordered drinks like Iced tea to Watermelon smoothie and meals like chicken soup to club sandwiches. After we ordered our food and drinks some of us changed into our bathing suits and jumped right into the Lagoon and some of us waited to go in after we ate. The food was nice and rich. It was so mouth watering, at least us writers. Then we changed into our bathing suits and jumped into the Lagoon.

Afternoon: After lunch we all began to jump in. Now I am sure you thinking jumping in to what? The restaurant had a very cool lake. We all began applying all of our sun block. There was 2 docks 1 dock was at least 20 feet in the air that we were not allowed to jump off of. And the other dock was 18 feet in the air which we all did jump off of. We were all very amazed by the view of the mombacho and masaya mountains from the dock. We also where very impressed by the clear blue waters. After we were all changed and ready some of us began jumping. The ones who were especially excited were the ones who knew how to swim in 14 feet of water. The majority of kids began jumping and seemed to be very excited and automatically began swimming towards the dock which was sort of in the middle of the lake, and some of us who were not the best swimmers went down the steps to walk down into the water. The group of people that walked in the pool thought that it was gonna be sorta like a beach where it starts of shallow and worked its way up but we thought wrong! After at least you were a little away from the railing there was a 14 feet drop that scared those of us that could not swim very well. But we just doggy paddled and laughed! After a while we began to all get used to it. And the people that could not swim where provided with life jackets so those who did jump where safe in 14 feet. Everyone had jumped after the first 2 hours including our teachers. The only person who did not jump was Cyani, she was very scared. When we were on our way to the supermarket we decided we were going to buy cheese for Juan Pablo and his family and we bought it at a little stand by the side of the road. When we got to the supermarket, we bought a lot of stuff you cannot buy in America, but some of us also bought things that we eat back at home. When we left the supermarket, Juan Pablo picked up his dad, Don Pablo who was waiting for him by the road with a hammock. When we reached the hotel, it finally came to us the we will be leaving Nicaragua, going back to Philadelphia, and will be probably not be talking at all to some of the people who came on the trip with us. A lot of us cried.
